November 3rd, 2007 - ONEMATCH LAUNCH PARTY - Canadian Blood Services and Hip Hop Canada have partnered up for an event that is so cool and unheard of! At Metropolis Metrotown Mall (Skytrain entrance) is a full on hip hop event with MC's, breakdancers and live graffiti art by Milan Basic. Check out the links for more information.

July 15 - 20, 2007 - Steve Nash Mural - This is a mural being executed for a fundraising event put on by the Steve Nash Foundation charity for kids. The mural is located on Beatty Street between Dunsmiur and Georgia. It's pretty much a week long live art show, check it out. See the community page for more details.

GAETANO FASCIANA BENEFIT - June 1, 2007
This was a night of unity where
the cause was real and not filtered through layers of crap! As I
walked up to the door, it was refreshing to see a
sign saying "Make all cheques payable to Gaetano Fasciana".
100% of the funds go directly to the cause!! This is good. Alot of stylishly
dressed folks bidding at the silent auction filled with Gaetano's beautiful
prints, and whole lot of other generously donated goods. It was nice
to see everyone listening closely towards the end of the event when Gaetano
spoke of his life lessons and appreciation for all that's been done.
I am proud to have been a small part of this beautiful thing and I wish
all the best to Gaetano in finding success in his quest.

Vancouver.......and do you know what's even more important? Diffuse.
We had 3D Leigh flying in from Bristol, England and Ashley Montague coming
in from Portland, Oregon. Both of whom were live painting at this event alongside
Milan Basic. This was a one night event which was very well received.

This wall was painted by 16 graffiti artists over 6 days, most of them rainy. It was painted for the Charity Classic event put on by the Steve Nash Foundation. The intention of these graffiti writers is for the wall to be left behind for the City of Vancouver and all the great people in it. For more information and photos see the community page.

Thirteen paintings on the thirteenth.
If you had walked into this show about an hour into it, you may have thought
it was a kids birthday party! The grown-ups did have thier own time after
bed time. The musical entertainment by Blind God was an incredible hit. I
just want to express my deepest thanks to those that came out and supported
me.
This showing will be running until the end of this year but, due to sales
during this long showing, different paintings will be rotated through the
venue during the next three months, so check it out online or in person.

A showing of Milans works twice in one month? You must
be thinking...."is he a machine?" Pretty close.
The Bayside Lounge is located at 1755 Davie Street (at Denman) above the Starbucks.
From 7:PM to 10:PM the Bayside lounge will be offering free wine and "delicious
snacks" so bring your empty stomach and check out the smaller paintings
being featured here as opposed to the larger works from the last show (currently
running) at Subeez.

Although there were no near fatal injuries, this will be a memorable night. Simply a chill evening where everything was right. The music, the mood, the people. Live painting by Milan, too bad Jesse didn't make it. His paintings were a hit nonetheless, as usual.

Another insane blowout by the Ayden Gallery! With a line-up
like this one, how can it fail. There must have been half a dozen live painters,
a cellist, pianist, DJ, drinks and of course, the incredible artwork. It was
very convienient when the show at the Ayden Gallery was coming to a close,
the reception/after party at the Workspace managed to pick up the slack and more with
its much greater square footage. Artistically, what struck me the most was the collage
work done by Virus and the Dark. It was refreshingly different from thier
usual fare. Big points for these guys, it's really brave to step out of your
element.

This solo show was a departure from Milans work as of the last two years in that much of it was representational as the abstract was kept as background. The imagery was mostly of a personal nature and hints of Milans graffiti past peeked through as underpainting. This seems to be a hint of the direction his work is going in.
